Most important restored teaching for the creation
JST Mosaic
4
And now, behold, I say unto you, that these are the generations of the
heaven and of the earth, when they were created, in the day that I, the
Lord God, made the heaven and the earth,
5 And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every
herb of the field before it grew. For I, the Lord God, created all
things, of which I have spoken, spiritually, before they were naturally
upon the face of the earth. For I, the Lord God, had not caused it to
rain upon the face of the earth. And I, the Lord God, had created all
the children of men; and not yet a man to till the ground; for in
heaven created I them; and there was not yet flesh upon the earth,
neither in the water, neither in the air;
Abrahamic Account
4
And the Gods came down and formed these the generations of the heavens
and of the earth, when they were formed in the day that the Gods formed
the earth and the heavens,
5 According to all that which they had said concerning every plant of
the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field
before it grew; for the Gods had not caused it to rain upon the earth
when they counseled to do them, and had not formed a man to till the
ground.
Analysis
This
part of the creation account carries the most important restored
principle for the creation for these latter days. Lets us look at
the Moses verses again:
4
And now, behold, I say unto you, that these [things that you have just
read] are the generations of the heaven and of the earth, when they
were created, in the day that I, the Lord God, made the heaven and the
earth,
5 And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every
herb of the field before it grew. For I, the Lord God, created all
things, of which I have spoken, spiritually, before they were naturally
upon the face of the earth. For I, the Lord God, had not caused it to
rain upon the face of the earth. And I, the Lord God, had created all
the children of men [as described in Moses 2]; and not yet a man to
till the ground; for in heaven created I them; and there was not yet
flesh upon the earth, neither in the water, neither in the air;
The
creators created all the modern life like mankind as described in Moses
2 and none are yet on the earth but all are still in heaven where they
were created.
The
writer of Earth in the Beginning believes that spiritual refers to the
creation of our spirits and that of our earth’s spirit as well.
Here is a reference that shows that the term spiritual means
immortal-physical.
27 For notwithstanding they die, they also shall rise again, a spiritual body. D&C 88:27
The
principle which is taught in verses four and five are so important God
keeps repeating it to Moses in verses seven and nine. The Genesis
1-2 creation account is self-contradictory without the restored
teaching. The creation accounts contradict in different ways;
1 The order of creation; plants, animals, humans, to; man, plants, animals, women.
2 Genesis 2:5 says, there was “not yet a man to till the ground” yet man was created in Genesis 1,
3 Genesis 2:5 shows it hasn’t rained on the earth yet life was, before hand, created,
4 When did God end his work at the end of Genesis 1? ,
5 Were Adam and Eve created at the same time?
6
‘God’ is the creator for genesis 1:1-2:3 and the
‘Lord God’ for 2:4-2:25
